When The Bass Begins

Made it. I picked Giovana up, spent a couple of hours at the Taylor's Campus Day in Subang, and wound up at e@Curve for the Floor Combat - which I was determined not to miss again. It's all a matter of priority.

As 2 p.m. drew nigh, I began to panic about grabbing lunch and securing the best viewpoint at the same time.
We planted ourselves outside Shiok - which was anything but - and ended up getting a pretty decent view.

At least no one was blocking and you couldn't make a paying patron leave, could you?

P.s. This eatery is highly unrecommended. They make their flavours too strong and therefore sickening.

Lucky for us, it was a 3-on-3 battle, so no need to actually face the stagefront.

The empty DJ console.

Plenty of statement shirts, of course. One of them:
RIP James Brown.
O.o

DJ Gambeaux setting up his turntables.

Let's get this show started.

The restless dancers warming up in an informal showdown.

Orbitron of Zulu Nation, caught in a mundane moment with his shoelaces.

Breaker extraordinaire.

Orbitron.

The very first crew to be called out, looking very nervous.

The Floor Combat kicks off!

Bustin' em moves.

Then Wakaka was up. WAKAKA!
That's Alam in the middle, winner of the local inaugural So You Think You Can Dance.

Wakaka dancer doing battle.

The panel of judges.

Orbitron handing it over to the Indonesian judge.

It's funny how he looks like some kind of kitchen appliance or other.

Hmm yeah, I deleted photos of the third judge, from Singapore.
They weren't decent shots anyway.

To the right is Lord Yoda from Zulu Nation, emcee for Strictly Street.
And now I know Orbitron is left-handed! XD

We saw some pretty dope moves that day.
Some of them were the yoga master (where a dancer crashes onto the floor with legs akimbo) and the jaw-dropping one-handed turtle. Mean feat, that.

But they came unexpected and stunned me so I haven't any pictures of those.

Immortal handstand.

Pump it.

He held it for veryy long! =D

3, 2, 1... FrEEEZzE!

This is utterly wicked.

Vs-ing the red-shirt crew.

Simple United entered with the only female dancer that day.

Their opposition.

Show 'em wutcha got, wutcha got.

Whatever it was, it wasn't enough.

The opposition butchering Simple United.

The end of you.

Discussing tactics at the start of a new battle.

The most eye-catching shirt of the day.

Moves and style must co-habitate.

Wavy legs. O.o

Roll 'em!

Clear shot of a cross-legged headstand.

A freeze.

Watchamacallit.
Giovana's friend's crew.

Darn flexible.

*Whoosh*

Big guy can fly~

Skill.

Somehow reminds me of girls and how we put our heads together for a giggly whisper.

Hawt move.

Gravity-defying.

Last shot.

We scrammed right after the day's battles ended. Thought Gio could make it in time for a meeting, but knowing Subang... the jam made it impossible.

So gladly we parked in Taipan and started hunting for an exquisite ice-cream parlour I recalled from my first (and only, before this) visit.
It was a bakery, I remembered; a mouthwatering array of buns and pastries, standing about an equally tantalising gelato display. And I love gelato. What makes this place the bomb is the way 2 scoops are priced at a mere RM5.60, whereas a single scoop elsewhere would average at 6 bucks.
Solid.
Not only that, the flavours themselves are absolutely bona fide. If it's called Blueberry, there are genuine blueberries buried within and if it's Strawberry, it's not the sickly sweet stuff you get at some places. No, it has more depth, more authenticity than you find elsewhere. This haven is called... Patisfrance.
Oh yes. XD
